As build season comes to a close, RoboGym is kicking into overdrive. Our elevator sub-team is constructing the elevator as well as ramps other robots in our alliance will use to climb onto our robot. These ramps will ensure that during competition, our alliance will gain all the possible points for climbing available each round. This is because the ramps will allow robots in our alliance to roll onto the platform needed to gain the thirty points for successfully climbing, and each robot's successful climb provides our alliance with thirty points. The ramps are what the other robots roll onto, and the elevator pushes the robots as well as our own robot onto the platform. There are three robots in an alliance, including our robot, so the ramps and elevator will ensure that our alliance gains ninety points.

Members Lexi Stoff (right) and Noelle Pappous prepare elevator pieces to be drilled.
Our bumper sub-team is working on the bumper mounts so that the bumpers can slide on and off the robot, and our CAD sub-team is CADing small pieces needed to connect parts of the robot to each other. Other members have milled these pieces, some of which are custom gussetts for the elevator. A gussett is a metal piece that holds two pieces of metal together. They can act as hinges or simply connect two pieces of metal.
